What does MunckMix do, what is your main goal?
MunckMix produces and distributes live concert recordings. We work directly with artists and music festivals to record and sell their live performances directly to the public on CDs and downloads. We distribute some of the recordings through traditional retail stores, but the majority of our sales take place over the internet through our own online music store www.munckmusic.com, and through dedicated online stores that we run on behalf of the artists.
MunckMix started out producing and marketing the “Official Concert Recording Series” for The [Grateful] Dead’s 2003 tour where we made recordings of every concert available for sale on the band’s website shortly after each show. Fans could now easily get their hands on the “ultimate souvenir” – a CD of the very concert they attended. It was a very successful concept which led us to establish turn-key live recording services for other artists such as RatDog, Bruce Hornsby, and Little Feat, as well as music festivals such as the New Orleans Jazz Fest and the Voodoo Music Experience.
